Today I picked up some tomato starts from a local farm. On my way down their drive, I saw these intriguing sheep. Or wait, are those goats?
When I asked, turns out I was right the first time—sheep!
The information I gleaned from the farmer had me very curious.
- Raised for meat
- Hair sheep, meaning they shed
- Small stature
- Enjoyable coloring
And so far, the basic research I’ve done has me further intrigued!

- Breed and lamb year round
- Withstands hot temperatures better
- Higher disease and parasite tolerance
